This
application provides a way of using digital photos and images to create
a short video file. Narration can be easilly added using a microphone attached
to the computer. You can also create your own music backing track!
There are some examples of students' work on this page (see box opposite). Some of the photo stories were the result of small group work and others were created by individual students working on a particular topic.
Conservation was created by a KS4 group. The students were using the photos to recall the tasks completed and to provide an assessment of the tasks. In the preparation work the students chose a photo and talked about what was happening and why. They discussed aspects of health and safety using the equipment.
Art project involved a group of Year 8 students who created individual photo stories as their responses to still life paintings. In preparation for the work we discussed the characteristics of 'still life' in terms of subject matter and composition. The students then explored websites to select three to talk about in their video. Both students whose work is shown have profound hearing impairment.
"The students' response to hearing their own narration played back was a revelation. It was very rewarding and gave them an introduction to an application which will be useful in enhancing learning and presentation in other curriculum areas." Sue Weeks, KS3 manager and maths coordinator
